Winter in Val di Fassa

Winter in Val di Fassa means skiing—and so much more. It’s snow to be experienced with a sense of wonder, snowshoe walks through spruce forests, and slow strolls in the open air. And then there is the return to Malga Pié, where the warmth of wood, good food, and wellness make everything even more special.

Ski areas

Val di Fassa is part of the vast Dolomiti Superski area: from the panoramic slopes of Alpe Lusia/San Pellegrino to connections with major ski tours such as the Sellaronda, and even the Marcialonga for cross-country skiing, the possibilities are endless. From Malga Pié, the main ski areas can be easily reached by car or by the ski bus service.

Snowshoeing

Snowshoeing is one of the most beautiful winter experiences in Val di Fassa. Snowshoe trails lead through woods, open clearings and scenic areas such as Fuciade, with routes suitable for different levels and the possibility of being accompanied by an Alpine guide. Malga Pié enjoys a particularly convenient location, between Soraga and Moena, making it easy to reach several starting points for snowshoe hikes.

Walks

In winter, Val di Fassa can also be enjoyed without skis. You can stroll through the centres of Moena, Soraga, Pozza, or Canazei, stop at a refuge or mountain hut, enjoy a horse-drawn sleigh ride, or go sledging. This is the quieter side of winter: wide-open landscapes, mountain villages, the crisp cold on your cheeks, and warm places to pause and take it all in.
